Frederick Rescue Mission Project Completed
The following letter was sent to many of the construction industry associations of which Manganaro Midatlantic, LLC is a member:
During these hard economic times, we all need some good news. On Good Friday, April 22, 2011 one of your member companies made a huge difference in changing the lives of people who are struggling with poverty, hunger, and even homelessness.
During these hard economic times, we all need some good news. On Good Friday, April 22, 2011 one of your member companies made a huge difference in changing the lives of people who are struggling with poverty, hunger, and even homelessness.
The Frederick Rescue Mission opened a new 6,000 square foot building that has 130 seat dining hall, four class rooms, and a computer learning center. For years the Mission served the area’s needy with inadequate space and facilities. That changed on Good Friday! People from all levels of life came to celebrate the Grand Opening.
Manganaro MidAtlantic, LLC played a vital role in making a noble idea a real blessing. Their in kind donation of the majority of materials and labor enabled the Mission to have the necessary resources to complete the building debt free.
A few facts concerning Manganaro’s generosity –
Exterior: Brick – 27,000 standard brick to match existing building, Cast Stone – 214 pieces, Arch CMU – 1,100 pieces, Grey CMU – 14,000 pieces, and 5,974 man-hours.
Interior: 7,500 lf of metal, 9,000 sf of drywall, 4,000 sf of ACT ceilings, and 3,062 man-hours.
Additionally, York Building Products Company partnered with a donation of $5,000 and a break on the cost of some of the materials.
Three months later, while buildings consist of brick and mortar, they do have the ability to change lives and communities. Matter of fact, starting this fall, classes for the G.E.D. and life skills will begin for those who are homeless and in economic distress. So much is being done now that could not have been done before. Companies and people in the building industry, like Manganaro, play a vital role in making communities compassionate and great places to live and work.
The Frederick Rescue Mission, Inc. is so honored by the generosity of Manganaro and thankful for being an essential partner in “changing lives now and for eternity”.
With Great Thanks,
Arnold W. Farlow
Executive Director of the Frederick Rescue Mission, Inc.
