General Contractor: Turner Construction Company The Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts opened for the summer concert series in 2001. The building's inventive floor plan encompasses over 200,000 square feet of dynamic entertainment and classroom spaces featuring a grand concert hall and additional recital theaters . The building's geometric exterior is veneered with over 1,000,000 blended brick, with a concrete masonry unit (CMU) backup. The acoustically challenging interior features over 400,000 concrete masonry units.

General Contractor: Gilbane Building Company This award winning project consisted of both the Comcast Arena as well as the Terrapin Team Store. Comcast Arena Completed in August 2002, the Comcast Arena opened for the inaugural season of the NCAA Champion Terrapins. The project included a diverse amount of masonry products utilized to match the University's school colors. The diverse products used included 375,000 Cushwa Molded Brick, 25,000 Split Face Concrete Block (Terrapin Wall of Fame), 68,000 Colored Smooth Face Concrete Block, and 275,000 Grey Concrete Block. The building also houses all athletic department offices. * 2002 WBC Craftsmen Award Winning Project
Terrapin Team Store Within the arena lies the the Terrapin Team Store, home of officially licensed merchandise. The main entrance and adjacent structural columns are constructed with 3000 Bright Red Trenwyth 8" x 8" Glazed Concrete Block with black mortar joints, the two primary school colors.
