Manganaro is pleased to announce the following Awards and Commendations. For Immediate Release January 28, 2006Manganaro Midatlantic receives "Excellence in Construction" award The Associated Builders and Contractors Baltimore Metro Chapter announced the winners in its Excellence in Construction program. Manganaro Midatlantic's work at BWI Airport, Terminal A project won the award for Interior Finishes-Drywall. The Baltimore Chapter will present the award in April. The Washington Building Congress has announced the winners in its Craftsmanship Awards. Once again, Manganaro Midatlantic has been recognized for its work on the Bell Lincoln Multicultural School in Washington, DC. The award goes to the craft professionals who worked directly on the project, and will be presented at a banquet in May. These projects are just two more examples of the high caliber of work done by the professionals at Manganaro. Congratulations to everyone who helped these projects succeed. September 15, 2005 Manganaro Midatlantic Recognized for Excellence in Construction Beltsville, Maryland subcontractor Manganaro Midatlantic, LLC was recognized by the Metropolitan Washington and Virginia Chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors for the outstanding quality of its work with two awards. Manganaro received an Excellence in Construction Award, the chapters’ highest honor, in the category of Masonry construction for the South Wing Addition to the Kennedy Warren Apartments in Washington, DC. The Kennedy Warren is one of the world’s finest examples of Aztec Art Deco architecture. Preserving that unique character required a masonry contractor with advanced technical capabilities and a commitment to quality control that insured the finished product would be worthy of the existing historical landmark. A highly complex brick veneer required the Manganaro team to match the color, craftsmanship and complicated patterns present in the original building. Manganaro was also honored to be the recipient of the Drywall/Ceiling Subcontractor of the Year award. The Subcontractor and Supplier of the Year awards are voted by the General Contractors who submitted award-wining entries for their projects. “Being selected as the Subcontractor of the Year is a terrific honor for Manganaro employees at every level,” says Manganaro President Tom Vagrin. “Not only does it recognize the high level of technical excellence of our field professionals, but it acknowledges our commitment to quality at every level of the contracting relationship.” Notable among recently completed drywall and acoustical ceiling projects are the Music Center at Strathmore Hall in Rockville, Maryland, the National Institutes of Health Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and the Terminal A Addition at Baltimore Washington International Airport. Each of these is an example of a large, technically difficult project, completed under challenging site conditions, and with tight schedules. The awards were presented at a banquet at the McLean Hilton Hotel on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. The evening began with a reception, followed by dinner and the awards program. Manganaro Midatlantic, LLC is the Washington and Baltimore regions’ largest masonry and drywall subcontracting firm, serving the region since 1958.
